Artist and urban designer Arja Lehtimäki was commissioned to develop a monument installation in honour of Finnish writer Kalle Päätalo.
At initial stages a visual case was prepared for public consultation. It illustrated the research, the concept and the context. This approach enabled important decisions to take place early on in the project, with very few changes or compromises taking place through to completion.
The lettering was developed to fit the artist’s vision and is in-keeping with the writer’s books chiefly set between the two world wars.
Awarded by the Finnish Environmental Art Foundation, 2006.
